索尼公司，港台地区稱作新力公司，创立于1946年5月，其前身是「东京通信工业」。该公司是由盛田昭夫和井深大共同所創立，是一家以日本东京為基地的國際性消费电器制造企業。旗下有多家大型机构。
2005年3月7日，日本索尼公司举行临时董事会，决定并宣布由英国人霍华德·斯金格（Howard Stringer）取代出井伸之担任该公司新的首席执行官。这家二战后创立的日本公司，首次由外国人出任公司最高负责人。2005年6月22日得到股东大会批准后正式实施，现任首席执行官出井伸之将退出公司董事会。
